The Rochester Business Journal has named John Loury, president of CAUSE + EFFECT Strategy and Marketing (CESM), to its list of Forty Under 40. The list recognizes 40 men and women under the age of 40 who have achieved professional success and have made significant civic contributions to the community. Additionally, Mike Sutton, CESM’s V.P. of Client Service & New Business Development, has been accepted into the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce’s CLIMB (Chamber Leadership Initiative: Mentoring for Business) program. The program seeks the best and brightest young professionals who are already demonstrating leadership within their organization and our community as well as their vision for the Rochester and Finger Lakes region.
“We are proud of both John and Mike for being recognized for their commitment to Rochester’s business landscape and the community. Their contribution, dedication to professional growth, and passion to help others is truly noteworthy.”
Professor Chris Bondy, RIT Gannett Distinguished and advisory board member of CESM
Mr. Loury and Mr. Sutton are co-founders of CESM, a marketing intelligence firm that leverages data insight with proven marketing principles to accomplish client goals for retention and growth. Their leadership was a driving force behind the company’s 72% growth, addition of 13 new clients, and expanded engagements with existing clients in 2017. The company continues to grow in 2018, recording an 86% revenue growth over Q2 of last year.
Mr. Loury’s contribution to the Rochester community involves volunteering at several local civic and professional associations. He is seen as a thought leader, being asked to speak at various events and invited to join the boards of several local businesses and organizations. Currently, Mr. Loury sits on the board of the Rochester Data Science Consortium, the United Way of Greater Rochester’s Emerging Leaders Advisory Council, the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce’s Future Leaders Advisory Council, and the West Irondequoit Foundation.
Mr. Sutton’s work within CESM, as well as his contribution to the community through boards and volunteer work, earned him a spot in the CLIMB program. CLIMB is a 10-month experiential program designed to connect young professionals with business leaders across multiple sectors of the Finger Lakes economy. As part of the program, Mr. Sutton will be able to learn from a behind-the-scenes look at some of the area’s greatest success stories, have exclusive access to accomplished leaders, and, upon CLIMB graduation, have the opportunity to serve a one-year term on the Rochester Chamber’s Future Leaders Advisory Council.
