Position Summary

The Director of Client Strategy plays an important role in developing client strategy and growing client relationships. This leadership role is both strategic and operational in nature and encompasses the following:

  • For a short list of clients, understand their business objectives, and provide effective data-driven insight and business strategy

  • Internally, guide your team in the conception and delivery of innovative, business-building solutions as well as contributing to new business efforts.

  • Serve as the primary contact at CE Strategy responsible for owning relationships across several key accounts.

This position reports directly to the V.P. of Client Service and has potential for future advancement.

Ideal candidates will possess 5+ years of related work experience in a fast-paced setting.
Primary responsibilities include:

  • Partner with the V.P. of Client Service, vertical leads, and strategic partners to support clients
  • Lead end-to-end communications responsible for building relationships

  • Understand and translate clients’ business objectives into actionable next steps to effectively connect data sources to business KPIs

  • Lead and own the development of strategies and forecasts developed to achieve clients’ data-driven goals and KPIs

  • Use a data-first approach to leverage research and insights to shape strategic planning for marketing, operations, finance, and other departmental initiatives

  • Mine insights along with developing reports and data visualizations using business intelligence tools

  • Develop client presentations and other communications that are clear and persuasive

  • Work with vertical leads to scope and define project parameters based upon business objectives, and develop SOWs and profitable fee structures

  • Work collaboratively with internal and external teams to manage workflow, ensuring flawless and timely execution

  • Lead the growth and retention of a client portfolio with incremental/upsell opportunities

  • Participate in new business pitches
  • Supervise the daily functions, development, and growth of junior team members and direct reports, offering training, feedback, and guidance as needed

  • Immerse yourself in clients’ businesses to develop the knowledge base needed to become a key strategic partner

Experience, Education and Essentials for Success:

Required Experience
  • Substantial experience developing, implementing, and optimizing data-driven, targeted business or marketing strategies

  • Strong project management skills; ability to capture and manage action items

  • Excellent analytical skills to confidently evaluate and optimize performance and deliver insights to clients

  • An innovative thought leader who seeks out industry changes and emerging trends or opportunities with technology and data, and can incorporate them into actionable business or marketing strategy

Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience with enterprise-level consulting engagements

  • Track record of managing a team to consistently and successfully deliver execution of complex deliverables related to data science and business strategy

  • BA or BS degree in business, data science, MIS, analytics, marketing, finance, or a related field

  • MA, MS, or MBA degree in a related field
